Our Playscape is Giving Main Character Energy! 🌟
Our new playscape is definitely giving main character energy. This glow up did not happen overnight. With lots of planning we were sure to include all of the developmental elements to transform our environment into the third teacher for our little ones. Reggio Emilia would be proud; I know we are.

Rooted & Rising Community Food Center
Throughout the month of November, the Community Food Center hosted a distribution where we serviced over 70 families for the Thanksgiving holiday! In preparation for that distribution, Rooted & Rising partnered with Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church to package and prepare boxes that included a turkey and all the tasty, traditional fixings that we can all appreciate while spending quality time with family! Our Executive Director, Bill Schmitt, whipped up a humongous pot of vegetable soup utilizing fresh veggies from our produce stock for our families in which he received many rad reviews!

Celebrating 60 years of United Methodist Children’s Services and Embracing the Work Ahead in 2024 and Beyond
While the past year once again contained its inevitable fair share of challenges and surprises, 2023 was another year of bountiful blessings for Rooted & Rising. It was a year in which we were able to honor the agency’s rich history in a special way, but also take stock of the present moment and embrace the challenges and opportunities that await us in the New Year and beyond.

The Growing Tree Children’s Center
Taking root in the month of May, our friends focused on botany as we began planting the seeds that would grow our summer program over the course of the next few months; each session taking our learning experiences to new heights. We learned about the importance of plant life and what we can do to contribute to the cycle of life. Most days of the week, we would tend Rooted & Rising’s Community Garden where we intentionally planted a vegetable garden and a butterfly garden, to utilize for later purposes.
